HKPA A Night to Remember, Sadler's Wells.

There are moments in the life of a performing arts academy that remind everyone – students, families, and teachers alike – just how powerful young performers can be when they step into the spotlight with courage and passion. Last Sunday was one of those moments for HKPA. Taking to the world-renowned stage at Sadler’s Wells, our three HKPA troupes delivered performances that were nothing short of extraordinary.

From the second our pupils arrived backstage, it was clear that this would be a day to remember. The energy was electric: costumes shimmering, vocal warm-ups echoing, and stretching with a focus that showed just how ready they were. Sadler’s Wells is one of the most iconic venues in the country, and watching our students walk into that space with confidence, excitement, and pride was a beautiful reminder of why performing arts matters so deeply.

Our Troupes United: One Vision, Two Pieces, Three Powerful Performances

This year’s Sadler’s Wells performance was particularly special, as all three HKPA troupes presented different sections of two cohesive, beautifully crafted pieces, with each group showcasing their own strengths before uniting for a breathtaking finale.

Our Junior Troupe performed their sections with heart, bravery, and pure joy. Their confidence lit up the auditorium from the very first moment, proving how capable and expressive young performers can be when given the space to shine. Their discipline, enthusiasm, and unmistakable HKPA sparkle was a joy to behold.

Our Friday Troupe took to the stage for their very first performance in the West End, and they rose to the moment. Their section brought power, precision, and dynamic energy, demonstrating how rapidly they are developing in both technique and emotional maturity. The audience felt their commitment instantly, and the excitement in the theatre grew.

Finally, we have our Senior Troupe, who delivered a polished, passionate, and commanding performance that raised the bar. Their confidence, artistry, and stage presence offered a glimpse into the bright futures many of them may pursue in the performing arts world.

And if that wasn’t enough, in a moment that truly captured the essence of HKPA — all three troupes came together. Seeing performers of different ages unite on such an iconic stage was powerful, joyful, and unforgettable. It was a celebration of teamwork, growth, and the shared creative spirit that runs through our entire academy.

Together, the three troupes represented the full journey of HKPA training: growth, artistry, teamwork, and courage.

A Proud Moment for the HKPA Family

Watching our students pour their talent and hard work onto such an iconic stage was an emotional moment for everyone involved – teachers, choreographers, families, and of course, the performers themselves.

Events like this take more than talent. They take commitmentdisciplineteamwork, and a willingness to push beyond comfort zones. Every HKPA student demonstrated these qualities beautifully, and their performances reflected the hours of rehearsal and dedication behind the scenes.

Sadler’s Wells is a venue many dream of performing in – and your children did it with outstanding professionalism.

The Feedback Was Phenomenal

After our troupes left the stage, the response was overwhelming. Staff, organisers and audience members praised the quality, energy, and professionalism of HKPA’s performances.

As an academy, we are incredibly proud. These young people represented everything HKPA stands for:
✨ Excellence
✨ Expression
✨ Community
✨ Courage
✨ Joy in performance

Sunday wasn’t just a performance. It was a celebration of what happens when you give children the tools, encouragement, and support to express who they truly are.

What Happens Now?

We’re returning from this milestone event more motivated than ever. With Show Term in full swing and our upcoming Disneyland Paris performance now confirmed, the excitement within HKPA is higher than ever.
