Little Performers Class. Children participating in creative activities.

At Holly King Performing Arts Academy (HKPA), our Little Performers classes for children aged 3-6 are where the magic truly begins. These sessions are often a child’s very first introduction to the performing arts. As such, we’ve designed our Little Performers classes to be joyful, imaginative and nurturing, while also giving young performers a strong foundation to grow from.

Parents are often surprised to discover just how much learning, development and structure is packed into these fun-filled classes. At HKPA, we believe that creativity and discipline can (and should) exist hand in hand – especially for our youngest performers.

A Safe, Fun and Inspiring First Step

From the moment our Little Performers arrive, the focus is on creating a welcoming environment where every child feels happy, supported and excited to take part. Smiles, laughter and energy fill the room, but beneath the fun is a carefully planned class structure that helps children feel secure and confident.

Our Little Performers classes are designed to encourage children to:

  • express themselves freely
  • build confidence and independence
  • explore imagination and storytelling
  • develop coordination and musicality
  • work as part of a group

Most importantly, they learn that being themselves is something to be celebrated.

Structured Classes With Purpose

While our Littles classes are bursting with creativity, they are also highly structured and age-appropriate. Each session follows a familiar format, helping children understand routine and expectations in a positive way.

A typical HKPA Little Performers class includes:

  • warm-ups to build focus and physical awareness
  • creative movement and dance activities
  • singing and vocal play
  • acting games and storytelling exercises
  • opportunities for children to perform and share ideas

This balance of structure and play supports early learning, listening skills and confidence, all while keeping the experience exciting and engaging.

Learning Through Play and Performance

At ages 3-6, children learn best through play. That’s why our classes are designed to feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. Children might become characters, animals, heroes or storytellers as they sing, dance and act their way through each session.

Through these activities, they naturally develop:

  • communication and language skills
  • physical coordination and rhythm
  • confidence speaking and performing in front of others
  • emotional awareness and expression

Without even realising it, they are building essential life skills that will support them both in and out of the studio.

Building Confidence From an Early Age

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching our Little Performers is watching their confidence grow. Children who arrive shy or unsure often begin to stand taller, speak louder and shine brighter as the weeks go on.

At HKPA, we nurture each child at their own pace. There is no pressure. Only encouragement, kindness and celebration of effort. Every small achievement is recognised, helping children feel proud of themselves and excited to keep learning.

A Perfect Introduction to Performing Arts

Our Little Performers classes provide the perfect foundation for future performing arts training. Whether children continue on to our Junior Performers classes or simply take with them a love for movement, music and creativity, they become more confidence, happy memories and a strong sense of self.

At the heart of every Little Performers class is our HKPA ethos:
Being you never felt so good.

We are incredibly proud of the joyful, supportive environment we create for our youngest performers and love welcoming new families into the HKPA community.
